Zachery Ty Bryan confesses to two crimes after allegedly strangling the woman

Zachery Ty Bryan received parole after pleading guilty to two offenses on Tuesday.

“He was sentenced to 36 months probation, including the Bridges2Safety and non-contact program, as well as the other standard conditions of a domestic violence conviction,” the statement said.

Bryan was charged in October after allegedly strangling a woman. Initially, he was charged with strangulation, harassment, coercion and interfering with reporting. Online court records show that these other charges against Bryan have been dismissed.

“While Mr Bryan has been charged with additional crimes, including two Class C crimes, it is in the interests of closing the victim and recognizing the backlog of cases we have due to COVID restrictions that lead me to believe that solution in the interests of justice, “the prosecutor told PEOPLE.

One of Bryan’s attorneys did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

A spokesman for the Eugene Police Department previously told PEOPLE that officers were at a home in Oregon at around 10:00 p.m. local time on Oct. 16 after receiving a call from neighbors.

Upon arrival, officials said they saw Bryan sitting outside an apartment while the victim, who was identified by police as a 27-year-old woman who was in a relationship with Bryan, was in a neighboring apartment.

“An investigation found that Bryan attacked the victim during the argument, obstructing her breathing and stealing the victim’s phone when she tried to call 911,” the spokesman said in a statement.

According to online prison records, Bryan was booked at Lane County Jail just after 1am on October 17th

Two weeks before his arrest, Bryan announced on Instagram that he and his wife Carly, with whom he shares four children, had split up. His account has since been deactivated.

“Almost fourteen years as best friends, soul mates, partners and then parents. It was an incredible journey, but together we decided to turn the page and move on from our marriage,” he wrote in the October 1 post.
