The four-part HBO documentaries Allen v. Farrow debuted Sunday with Dylan Farrow, the adoptive daughter of actresses Mia Farrow and Woody Allen, and described her allegation of childhood sexual abuse against the Annie Hall Director – and Allen is one of the people who react to the first part.
Allen and his wife Soon-Yi Previn, also an adopted daughter of Mia, popped the documentaries in a statement The Hollywood Reporter, Filmmakers Amy Ziering and Kirby Dick “had no interest in the truth. Instead, they secretly collaborated with the Farrows and their enablers for years to put together a falsehooded hatchet job. Woody and Soon-Yi were approached less than two months ago and only given a question of days to answer. Of course they refused. “(Docuseries producer Amy Herdy related diversity she started contacting Allen a few years ago.)
The testimony of Allen – who was never charged – and his wife went on: “As has been known for decades, these allegations are categorically false. Several authorities investigated them at the time and found that whatever Dylan Farrow may have believed “There has been absolutely no abuse. It’s not surprising, unfortunately, that the network that airs this is HBO – which has a permanent production contract and business relationship with Ronan Farrow. Even if this sloppy hit track gets attention, it doesn’t change anything.” on the facts. “”
Ronan, Mia and Allen’s only birth child to become estranged from All, said in an Instagram post that he was “proud of my sister” who said she endured the abuse at the age of 7 after she described by everyone as care.
Rosie O’Donnell, who revealed in 2019 that she was sexually assaulted by her father, kept a close eye on the doctor and tweeted articles listing the allegations first made in 1992.
When someone asked what the reproach was about, she replied, “Dylan may tell her story.” She also said that she loves Mia.
Kathy Griffin called the documentaries “excellent” and said she had “a lot of respect” for Mia and Dylan.
When Allen was on Twitter Monday for the document, director Judd Apatow said it was “difficult to understand” who is defending Allen.
When people are defending Woody Allen, it is hard to understand what they are defending. He admits a lot of it himself. He is obsessed with children and vulnerable young women. Are you saying that he cared for and molested this child, but not this child? https://t.co/I0564UaAb1

A few more reactions:
Just saw the first episode. It is very clear that this is going to be a phenomenal and incredibly painful documentary series. If you have also survived childhood sexual abuse, no matter how many years in therapy, please take the withdrawal warning seriously. It’s tough.#AllenVFarrow

The White Privilege lets Woody Allen keep his films on HBO MAX while he is now making a documentary about his alleged sexual abuse.
He collects a check and is simultaneously posted on the same platform. Gross. #AllenVFarrow

However, it was also called “selective filmmaking” because Allen did not participate.
When looking at the Woody Allen document, it’s probably best to remember that every story has multiple sides and it’s easy to persuade if you tell just one of them.

This is an anti-woody allen movie. A Pro Woody Allen film without perspectives from Mia, Dylan etc. would also convince. Don’t let selective filmmaking fool you.

The documentation examines how the 1992 charges were first brought against Allen. Mia declined to bring criminal charges after a custody battle denied everyone access to the site. Allen has repeatedly denied the allegations in the almost 30 years since they were first raised.
“I mean, I adored him,” Dylan said on the HBOMax document. “He was so funny and made me feel special. Things get really, really complicated there because there was a lot more going on in all these good times. Every time it appeared like a magnet in the apartment, it came straight to me. Intense affection all along, “Farrow said, adding,” I was always in his clutches. He always chased me. “
Dylan remembered Allen going to bed with her – both in their underwear – and the filmmaker wrapping his body “very tightly” around her. She also remembered Allen “telling me how to suck his thumb” and “telling me what to do with my tongue”. And I think it took a while. It felt like a long time. “
In Allen’s memoir from last year, he described how he began a relationship with the adopted daughter Previn of his then partner Mia. He first met Previn when she was 7 years old, and they began a sexual relationship in 1991 – when Previn was 21 years old. In January 1992, Mia discovered nude photos Allen had taken of Previn, which led to their split. In August of that year, Dylan’s charges were brought against her father.
Allen and Previn stayed together, married in 1997 and adopted two daughters.
