The Ultra Music Festival 2021 has been officially canceled due to coronavirus

A letter received from Billboard in January indicated that the organizers of the Ultra Music Festival were preparing to cancel this year’s event and that Miami city officials were asked to approve their application for permission to run the event in 2022.

An official statement from the Ultra organizers has now confirmed that this year’s event cannot take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

In a post shared on Facebook this weekend, organizers said that “it’s still not safe enough” for the festival to take place.

“Given the current status of the COVID-19 pandemic in terms of mass gatherings and public health considerations, we are deeply saddened to be forced to postpone the Ultra Music Festival to March 25, 26 and 27, 2022,” said it in the declaration.

“We understand the disappointment and frustration that comes with reading because we feel and share it too.

“Rest assured, we are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to safely produce what is definitely the most memorable Ultra in our 22-year history. We miss you all very much and can’t wait to reunite on the dance floor to create more unforgettable memories with you guys! “
