In Iceland’s version of the popular quiz show called Gettu betr, the male candidate also saw a glass thrown against the wall and it shattered.
As he stormed off, hostess Kristjana Arnarsdóttir – who was visibly shocked and unsure of what to do – tried to keep things going.
The candidate wasn’t finished, however – as Arnarsdóttir spoke, the invisible man could be heard throwing things behind the scenes.
The candidate is enraged after losing to ‘Gettu betr’, Iceland’s version of the ‘University Challenge’.
According to Twitter user @ viktor888, the contestant got angry after the opposing team won the show after buzzing in front of their team in “a millisecond or so”.
In the “annoying” clip that BBC News’ senior journalist Tom Hourigan shared on Twitter, you can hear someone say in Icelandic, “Woah, what’s going on?”
Arnarsdóttir then suggests taking a break while the participant calms down.
Gettu betr was first broadcast on RÚV in 1986. The University Challenge on which the format is based began in 1962.
