The 58-year-old star believes he is currently on more drugs than ever, and according to his wife, Joanne Ryder, doing so will help improve their love life.
Shaun said, “I probably use more drugs today than I did when Happy Monday was heyday.
“I take thyroxine, which is intended for my underactive thyroid. I take blood pressure pills. I’m on testosterone replacement.

“The thyroid affects everything – allergies and all kinds. I mean, if I don’t take these allergy pills, I can’t breathe. It would be like an anaphylactic shock. My throat is tight and everything. I am also plagued with arthritis.
“But my wife is very happy with the testosterone treatment since everything that happened in my late 40s has been around for about 12 years.
“So, yeah, it was like being 21 but without all of the headaches that come with 21.”
Even so, Shaun insisted he was happier now than he was during his Happy Monday pomp.
He told The Sun newspaper’s Bizarre TV column, “You could say it’s pills and stomach aches that don’t have so much thrill.
“But I have the thrill of life. I know it sounds a bit like monkey hippie, but I just love having a good life with people around me.
“I don’t miss the drugs because I missed my kids growing up. I mean, when I first had kids, I was out – I never saw them. I’ve gone the world to have a career, I’ve been on the go and haven’t seen them grow up. “
