The BBC Radio 2 presenter had previously shared concern about being offered the vaccine in front of her sister with learning disabilities and diabetes.
On Sunday (February 21), Whiley shared an Instagram video of her sister waving from the window of her infirmary.
“Today we handed in a care package at the hospital where Frances was fighting Covid,” she wrote.

While she announced over the weekend that Frances – who suffers from the rare genetic syndrome Cri du Chat – had been offered the vaccine on Saturday (February 20) after an outbreak of Covid at her sister’s nursing home in Nottinghamshire.
By then, however, it was “too late” and Frances tested positive for coronavirus.
