Good news from the white island

Facilities with an outside terrace can cater to customers, as can bars and restaurants in all of the Balearic Islands.

The Olive Press reports that indoor use will be banned until March 16, as long as there is no further surge in coronavirus cases by then.

The Confederation of Business Associations, which represents Spanish companies, said the relaxation of the rules was “unsatisfactory”. The authority points out that 80 percent of the companies on Mallorca do not have a terrace.

Business associations have also criticized the Balearic government’s cautious approach to reopening the hospitality industry and have blown the lack of financial support for the industry.

However, those watching Ibiza’s way back to a “normal” summer will welcome the news. The Spanish government will try to welcome tourists from the spring.

Everything we know about the opening of Ibiza in 2021 can be found here.
