Former Curved Air violinist Darryl Way has announced that he will release Destinations 2 on May 28th through Spirit Of Unicorn Records.
On the new album, Way mixes his violin playing with a new passion for guitar.
“This is a guitar hero as an arch-melody maker who puts his chops to serve the mood of each song,” says Way. “This is an artist who is looking for and finding a new way to express his undeniable talent.” You can check out a teaser video with excerpts from the 2020 follow-up goals and check out the album art below.

“Like Destinations, Destinations 2 sets out to take the listener on a journey to distant and exotic places, which is actually very difficult for us at the moment,” adds Way. “These tracks are journeys of the mind and my interpretation of the atmosphere and music of every single place, from Sun Baked Mexico to Bohemian Budapest.
“The tracks play primarily in a rock format and are tempered by my newfound love for guitar playing and my continued love for violin playing. So the pieces themselves tend to genres in which guitar and violin are features of this particular style. However, when the music needs to be more expansive, I couldn’t resist orchestrating it for a full orchestra to add more cinematic depth to the piece.
“Since this music is essentially program music, I have included my descriptions of the pieces in the sleeve notes of this album.
As with works like Vivaldi’s Four Seasons and Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique, it is sometimes helpful for the listener to know what the composer’s original intentions were. Nevertheless, I am just as happy when the listener invents their own stories for the music.
“After all, I hope you enjoy this album as much as I did when I made it.”
