Daniel Kaluuya accepts Golden Globe victory after technical difficulties: “You made me dirty”

At the Golden Globes on Sunday evening, the 32-year-old actor won Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture for his appearance in Judas and the black messiah.

This is Kaluuya’s first Golden Globe win and second nomination. The actor was previously nominated for best actor in a musical or comedy for his leading role in 2018 Go out.

Judas and the black messiah follows Black Panther chairman Fred Hampton (Kaluuya) and FBI informant Bill O’Neal (Lakeith Stanfield) who killed Hamptons in an FBI raid.

“I was impressed with how brilliant his mind was. How much he knew and how much he cared, how much he loved and how much he did,” said the actor.

Kaluuya stated that he accepted the role of “serving Chairman Fred to serve the Black Panther Party”.

“He was silenced, erased and murdered, physically and culturally,” he added. “This is an opportunity to get him into his rightful position.”
