"Dancing On Ice" judge Jayne Torvill expects more of the stars next weekend

The ITV figure skating competition was canceled this week after several celebrities were injured, but Jayne has admitted that the celebs are putting additional pressure on when they return to the ice on February 28th.

Jayne appeared on ITV’s ‘Lorraine’ and said, “We’re all sad because everyone worked so hard to get the show on.

“There was something going on every week. On the positive side, however, all of our celebrities have an extra week to work on their routine. I look forward to seeing some great routines when we get back. “

Jason Donovan missed the show last weekend with a back injury, but Judge Christopher Dean announced he is prepared to return.

He added, “Well he’s rested, he’s in better fitness and everything is fine, we’ll see him next week.

“He loves the show, he loves what he does, and he loves to come back. We look forward to seeing him back on the ice soon. “

In addition to Jason’s injury, rapper Lady Leshurr currently has leg pain, and Rebekah Vardy has a groin strain.

Four celebrities have retired completely, with Denise Van Outen stepping down because of a broken shoulder and Billie Shepherd, who previously missed a week when her grandmother died – and quit because of a serious fall on the ice that left her with a concussion .

Additionally, Rufus Hound walked out of the show after testing positive for COVID-19, and Joe-Warren Plant was also finally wrapped up after contracting coronavirus too.

However, Torvill and Dean both insisted that the current streak hadn’t been plagued by more injuries than normal.

Jayne: We have this little saying, if you don’t fall, you don’t try.

“But in that regard, we don’t want people to push themselves too far to get hurt. We always take precautionary measures and give advice.

“As Chris said, we always have some injuries and we always say to our reserves, ‘Don’t think you won’t be on the show’. We use one almost every season, and this year we used both reserves. “
