The band is currently looking to the future. Tour dates are slated for this summer and there is talk of a sequel to their 2019 album ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ which may be prepared for a release later this year.
Talk to Kerrang! On this week’s radio, Taylor hinted that big news from the Slipknot warehouse was on the horizon.
“There are some things brewing up that I can’t talk about, but they’re huge,” he said (see the full interview with Taylor below).
“I can say this: you’ll probably hear about it in the next month, let’s put it this way.”
Regarding the likelihood that the band will be able to carry out their tour plans in 2021 during the coronavirus pandemic, the frontman said: “Slipknot is booked for a tour of America in late September. We’re booked to go out. And we haven’t heard anything different yet. And we talk to you [concert promoter] Live Nation every week.
“We are aware of the various restrictions, not just that [various U.S.] States, but nationwide. Obviously, we have everything in view and continue from there. “
Last week Taylor said he was considering the possibility of writing a musical in the near future.
“I toyed with the idea of writing a musical based on the people I spent much of my 20s with in Des Moines [Iowa] how my crew and how we all found each other, how the outsiders came together and found each other and we somehow saved each other, ”he explained.
