Comedy Classic Frasier returns to the TV screens with Kelsey Grammer in a reboot of the acclaimed '90s series

The revival is produced for Paramount +, the renamed streaming service of the American entertainment giant ViacomCBS.

Grammer will also serve as executive producer, repeating his role as Frasier Crane, a psychiatrist.

The 66-year-old actor said, “After spending over 20 years of my creative life on the Paramount property, both producing and performing on shows, I would like to congratulate Paramount + on entering the streaming world.

Grammer has played Frasier on three series – Cheers, Wings, and the show that bears the character’s name, and has won Emmy, Golden Globe, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Dr. Frasier Crane first appeared on another hit television show, “Cheers,” and the spin-off series was planning his return to his hometown of Seattle to take care of his crazy father, played by John Mahoney, who Died in 2018.

The show also followed Frasier’s relationships with his brother Niles, played by David Hyde Pierce, the English housekeeper Daphne Moon, played by Jane Leeves, and Frasier’s producer Roz Doyle, played by Peri Gilpin.

It’s not clear if other favorite actors will return as well.

Paramount + is set to expand internationally later this year, the company said.
