The professional skater took to Instagram to express her regrets over Jason’s early exit from the ITV show. She admitted it was a “privilege” to skate alongside the actor before an injury forced him to quit.
She wrote on the photo sharing platform: “I am having a hard time finding the right words at the moment… What a real honor and privilege to have worked with @jdonofficial on this series of @dancingonice would be an understatement, even though i played it cool and i guess he didn’t notice [laughing emoji] (sic) ”
Alexandra is particularly disappointed with Jason’s early exit because she believes they have “so much more to show”.
Her contribution continued: “Furthermore, our time together on the ice ended so abruptly when I felt we had so much more to show you all.
“But as always, thank you very much for all your love and support, we couldn’t have done it without you and a big thank you to everyone who was involved in producing this fantastic show.
“It’s been a tough year, but I’ll always cherish those months on the ice because I know that on Sunday night we hopefully brought some magic into people’s living rooms! I will continue to cheer everyone on and wish my wonderful crime partner a speedy recovery [bicep and heart emojis] (sic) ”
Jason, 52, left the show with an ongoing back injury.
ITV announced his early exit from the series and wished him a “speedy recovery”.
The broadcaster said: “Jason Donovan has given us so much joy with his appearances on ‘Dancing On Ice’ – from Priscilla to Tango. Thanks to Jason and Alex for being so wonderful and dedicated to the series. We’re sorry they’re leaving and we wish Jason a speedy recovery. “
