343 industries have shown the improved graphics of Halo Infinite in a new update that covers the world of Zeta Halo

A new Inside Infinite post for February featured the art and graphics of Halo Infinite. Much of the update was geared towards talking about the inspirations and influences for the game, but the meat of the post focused on screenshots of the game’s graphical progression since its first release last year.

In a section titled “Stories From the Trenches,” the 343 Industries talked at length about their graphics team’s efforts. Graphics producer Alex Le Boulicaut explains: “After the campaign demo last July, the team has continuously done outstanding graphics and lighting work to provide an even more immersive experience.”

The shared screenshots are from the PC version of Halo: Infinite, but the Le Boulicat promised that 343 Industries “are committed to delivering great experiences and high levels of visual fidelity across all platforms”.

The campaign art director Justin Dinges spoke about how Halo Infinite is seen in many ways as a “spiritual reboot” of the Halo franchise, saying, “We want to introduce both new players and old players with the iconic Halo imagery, which the original games were built on to welcome back. “

Initial reaction to the Halo Infinite reveal in July 2020 was less than positive, with a lot of criticism centered on the graphics. In response to fan feedback, 343 Industries promised to “return to the old aesthetic that defined the original trilogy” now supported by this latest update.

Earlier this year, the developer promised monthly updates on progress in January of this year, saying, “We are committed to at least monthly high-level updates.”
