The Fate Of Marvel’s Helstrom Has Been Revealed After Its First Season

The supernatural thriller, which follows the offspring of a mysterious and powerful serial killer as they track down the worst of humanity, has been cancelled by Hulu.

Based on the Hellstrom comic and following siblings Daimon (Tom Austen) and Ana Helstrom (Sydney Lemmon), the series was greenlit last year and actually managed to make it into production, unlike the abandoned Ghost Rider TV series.

However, it now joins the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, The Punisher and The Defenders in the list of fallen Marvel TV shows.

The move to cancel the series follows former head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb stepping down after the division was moved under Kevin Feige’s Marvel Studios in October 2019, leaving animated shows MODOK and Hit-Monkey as the last pre-Feige era Marvel TV series.

MODOK will star Patton Oswalt as the classic super-villain, who is down on his luck after being demoted from his own super-villain group following a run of failed plots to defeat the Marvel superheroes.

It will also star Parks and Recreation actor Ben Schwartz and Brooklyn Nine-Nine’s Melissa Fumero as the villain’s children, while Lucifer star Aimee Garcia voices his wife Jodie.

Helstrom’s cancellation follows Disney+ recently detailing its massive roster of Marvel TV shows, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, WandaVision and animated series What If…?

Helstrom season 1 is now available to watch on Hulu in the US, but the show doesn’t have a UK broadcaster.
