Leo Messi has beaten Pele’s record for number of goals for a single club after scoring to put Barcelona 0-3 up at Valladolid.
The Argentina star finished off a great move with his left foot after Pedri played him in with a splendid backheel.

It was a Leo Messi exhibition during the first half of Barcelona’s match with Valladolid. Messi was key in his team’s first two goals despite scoring neither of them.
The ’10’ kept on trying, but was unable to get a goal. Halfway through the second period, he finally scored to break Pele’s record.

Messi scored in the 65th minute to kill off the hosts. That goal took him past Pele’s record of 643 goals for a single club. He got them for Santos while Messi now has 644 for Barca.
The Barcelona star beat Masip in the one on one situation with a shot across the keeper with his left foot. Straight after putting the ball in the net, Messi went to hug Pedri and thank him.
The Spaniard was key in the move as he assisted Messi with a spectacular backheel after being given the ball by Frenkie de Jong.
